about

"Paint the Town Red" is the critically acclaimed debut studio album from Red Baron. Released in the spring of 2005, it features a sobering perspective on the world and and a blissful optimism for how things could be. It has been described as "both hopeful and direct about redemption and all of the opportunities for redemption through the [S]pirit," and "chock full of God's Word, dope lyrics, and cinematic production."

Sonically, it fuses elements of the traditional boom-bap rhythmic patterns that became a fixture of New York rap music, with soulful interpolations of classical music, soul, rock and R&B. Conceptually it offers insightful social commentary and grapples with a bevy of topics, including unity in faith, ideas of beauty, the destructive content of mainstream hip-hop, the financial struggles of a college student and much more. It contains the infectious college students' anthem "I Still Got This Praise," the encouraging single "Beautiful feat. CanDyse Jones," the thought-provoking song "If This Sense Were Common" and much more.
